Soccer headers linked to brain changes: new study investigates

NCT ID NCT07302503

Summary

This study aims to understand if repeated headers in soccer cause subtle brain damage that can be seen on special MRI scans. Researchers will compare brain scans of professional soccer players near the end of their careers with scans of people who don't play contact sports. The goal is to find ways to detect early signs of brain injury so that better monitoring and prevention strategies can be developed for players.
