Texting your way to health: study tests if simple SMS reminders can fight diabetes

NCT ID NCT06477900

Summary

This study is testing if adding text message (SMS) reminders to a standard diet and exercise program helps people with prediabetes lose more weight. 300 participants in La Réunion will follow the same health program, but half will also receive 72 encouraging texts about nutrition and activity. The main goal is to see if the texts help more people lose at least 3% of their body weight in 6 months, which could lower their risk of developing full diabetes.
