Summary
This study aimed to understand how smoking affects gum health. Researchers compared 484 adults, split evenly between current smokers and non-smokers, by measuring their plaque, gum bleeding, and gum disease severity. The goal was to gather data on the relationship between smoking habits and the risk of developing serious gum problems.
