Spinal shot or IV drip: which helps you recover faster from kidney surgery?
NCT ID NCT06349668
First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests whether a spinal injection of pain medicine before robotic kidney surgery helps patients feel better the day after compared to getting pain medicine through an IV during surgery. About 220 adults having robotic upper urinary tract surgery will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups. Researchers will measure recovery using a patient wellbeing questionnaire and track pain, nausea, and other side effects.
