Fine-Tuning laser eye surgery: could a tiny alignment adjustment sharpen your sight?
NCT ID NCT07512115
First seen Apr 16, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looks at whether making a small adjustment for eye alignment (called kappa-angle compensation) during SMILE laser surgery can improve visual quality for people with nearsightedness. About 224 participants aged 18 to 40 will be randomly assigned to receive the surgery with or without this adjustment. Their vision will be checked over 6 months to see if the adjustment reduces visual distortions and improves sharpness.
