Summary

This study aimed to find the better surgery for Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome (SMAS), a rare condition where a major blood vessel pinches the small intestine, causing severe nausea, vomiting, and weight loss. Researchers randomly assigned 20 patients to receive one of two surgeries and followed them for a year to see which procedure improved symptoms, nutrition, and quality of life more effectively.
