Can your smartwatch really track your oxygen? new study investigates

NCT ID NCT07311135

Summary

This study aims to find out how accurate smartwatches are at measuring blood oxygen levels in people with pulmonary hypertension, a serious lung condition. Researchers will compare oxygen readings from a smartwatch to those from a standard finger clip monitor and a blood test, while participants are at rest, after walking, and while breathing air with less oxygen. The goal is to see if these wearable devices could be reliable for monitoring this important health metric.
