Smartwatch heart study aims to keep AFib patients out of hospital

NCT ID NCT07445789

Summary

This study aims to see if one of two common heart rate medications (verapamil or metoprolol) works better to control symptoms and prevent hospital visits for people with a type of irregular heartbeat called paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AFib). It will also test if using a smartwatch to help patients manage their own medication leads to better results. The goal is to improve quality of life and reduce the need for emergency treatments and hospital stays.
