NCT ID NCT06896435
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested a text-message program designed to help people reduce behaviors they use to hide or fix their appearance (like checking mirrors or seeking reassurance). 401 adults with appearance concerns were randomly assigned to receive either these text messages or a relaxing video. The goal was to see if the text program could reduce anxiety about appearance, social anxiety, and eating disorder symptoms. The study is complete, and results will show if this simple, phone-based approach can help.
