Phone cameras vs. dentist: which checks fillings better?
NCT ID NCT07405619
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether taking photos with a smartphone inside the mouth can accurately check the quality of tooth-colored fillings, compared to a standard in-person dental exam. Researchers evaluated 185 people to see if digital photos could reliably tell if a filling is intact, needs repair, or needs replacement. The goal was to find a simpler, more accessible way to monitor dental work.
