Summary

This study tested two smartphone apps designed to reduce risky drinking and its effects during the COVID-19 pandemic. One app focused on the drinker, the other on their family partner. About 400 pairs (a drinker and a family member) joined the 12-month study. The goal was to see which approach better lowered heavy drinking days and improved emotional well-being.
