Your phone may soon spot a hidden heart problem

NCT ID NCT07154303

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether smartphones can accurately detect atrial fibrillation (AF), a common heart rhythm problem that raises stroke risk. About 209 adults with and without AF will use their phone's microphone, camera, and a small external sensor to record heart sounds, electrical signals, and blood flow. Researchers will compare these recordings to standard hospital tests to see how well the phone-based method works.
