Smart system and teamwork aim to stop dangerous blood sugar drops

NCT ID NCT07314749

Summary

This study tested whether a smart computer system that predicts low blood sugar risk, combined with close teamwork between doctors and nurses, could help hospitalized type 2 diabetes patients. The goal was to reduce dangerous drops in blood sugar and help patients reach their target blood sugar levels faster while on insulin pump therapy. Over 1,200 patients were involved to see if this coordinated, tech-assisted approach worked better than standard care alone.
