Hospitals test smart pumps to prevent medication mistakes

NCT ID NCT06695169

Summary

This study is looking at how well 'smart' medication pumps work when they are connected to a patient's electronic health record in eight adult intensive care units. Researchers will survey and interview nurses, watch them use the pumps in practice, and review past patient records to see if the connected pumps help reduce errors compared to manual programming. The goal is to understand what helps or hinders nurses from using this technology safely and effectively.
