Remote diabetes care: can tech and telemedicine tame blood sugar?
NCT ID NCT04800471
Summary
This small, completed pilot study tested if using newer technology could help people with type 2 diabetes manage their condition better from home. Researchers gave 30 participants smart insulin pens and continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and used telemedicine for check-ins, comparing this approach to traditional finger-stick testing and in-person visits. The goal was to see if this tech-focused, remote care could lead to safer, more stable blood sugar levels and reduce dangerous highs and lows.
