Smart pen aims to simplify life with type 1 diabetes

NCT ID NCT06645834

Summary

This study tested a new 'Smart MDI' system, which includes a smart insulin pen and a glucose sensor, to see if it helps people with type 1 diabetes manage their blood sugar as well as or better than their usual insulin injections and sensor. About 179 adults and children used either the new smart system or continued their current therapy for 6 months. The main goal was to compare how much time people spent with their blood sugar in a healthy range.
