Computer knees aim to stop amputee falls

NCT ID NCT06937242

Summary

This study is testing whether prosthetic knees with built-in computers can help reduce falls and improve mobility for people who use above-knee artificial legs. Researchers will compare 100 adults who receive either a standard prosthetic knee or a computer-controlled 'smart' knee over 12 months. The main goal is to see if the smart knees lead to fewer falls, less fear of falling, and better quality of life.
