Smart wire 'Sniffs Out' stroke clots to guide treatment

NCT ID NCT04993079

Summary

This study tested a new 'smart' guidewire called Clotild® during stroke clot removal procedures. The wire has a tiny sensor that analyzes the clot's makeup in real-time while doctors are working to remove it. Researchers wanted to see if this information could safely help doctors understand the clot better and potentially improve treatment decisions for 45 stroke patients.
