Smart crutches tested to help patients heal broken bones faster

NCT ID NCT05825079

Summary

This study tested whether special 'smart' crutches that give patients feedback about how much weight they are putting on their injured leg can help them follow their doctor's instructions more closely. It involved 20 people with certain ankle or lower leg fractures who were told not to put weight on their leg. Researchers wanted to see if using these crutches led to better healing, less pain, and fewer complications compared to using regular crutches.
