First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 34 times
Summary
This study looks at 200 adults having emergency belly surgery to see if closing the wound with many small stitches (small bites) works better than the usual larger stitches (large bites). The goal is to lower the chance of wound infection, wound reopening, and later hernias. Participants are checked for 6 months after surgery to track healing and any problems.
