First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests a new approach for a very aggressive type of brain tumor called butterfly glioblastoma, which spreads to both sides of the brain and has a very short survival time. The treatment combines open surgery to remove as much tumor as possible from one side with a minimally invasive laser treatment on the other side. The goal is to improve survival and quality of life while reducing damage to healthy brain tissue. The study will enroll 12 adults whose tumors are small enough on one side for the laser procedure.
