Shoulder surgery patients may ditch sling sooner, study says
NCT ID NCT06092996
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looks at whether wearing a sling for only 3 days after reverse shoulder replacement is as safe and effective as wearing one for 3 weeks. About 100 people having surgery at Duke University will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups. Researchers will track complications and shoulder function for up to 2 years to see if less sling time helps recovery.
