Brain's stress response may be key to shift worker sleep woes

NCT ID NCT05424406

Summary

This study aims to understand why some night shift workers develop sleep problems while others don't. Researchers will test whether a person's tendency to have sleep disrupted by stress (called 'sleep reactivity') is an independent cause of shift work disorder. The study involves 150 night shift workers who will first have their body clocks adjusted, then some will receive cognitive behavioral therapy to see if it helps their symptoms.
