Heavy periods keeping you up? simple pad swap might help you sleep

NCT ID NCT05722444

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether using a standardized nighttime pad and avoiding leak-prevention behaviors (like waking up early) could improve sleep in 25 women with heavy menstrual bleeding. Participants tracked their sleep quality over three cycles using a standard questionnaire. The goal was to see if a simple product and behavior change could lead to better rest.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

standardized nighttime feminine product

What this could lead to

If successful, this could lead to simple, non-drug recommendations to help women with heavy periods sleep better.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, completed study (25 people) with no blinding or control group, so results may not apply widely. The intervention is a product and behavior change, not a treatment for heavy bleeding itself.
