Sleep pill could stop Alzheimer's before it starts

NCT ID NCT07213349

Summary

This study is testing whether a sleep medication called daridorexant can help prevent Alzheimer's disease by helping the brain clear harmful proteins linked to the condition. The trial will involve 240 adults who do not have Alzheimer's dementia, regardless of whether they have sleep problems. Participants will take either the medication or a placebo for 12 months to see if it affects biological markers and cognitive performance.
