First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a weight loss program that includes nutrition and behavior change can reduce the risk of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in overweight and obese adults. About 400 participants were observed before and after the program. The goal was to see if weight loss alone could improve sleep apnea, similar to what is seen after weight loss surgery.
