Sleep scope exam guides new path for CPAP-Free apnea relief
NCT ID NCT07422402
Summary
This study looked at whether a special sleep exam could help doctors choose better treatments for people with sleep apnea who cannot use the standard CPAP mask therapy. Researchers used a 'drug-induced sleep endoscopy'—a scope that looks at the throat during sleep—to see exactly where the airway collapses. They then used that information to select a personalized, non-CPAP treatment for each of the 35 adult participants to see if it improved their sleep apnea scores after three months.
