Can a sleep machine stop your heart from fluttering?
NCT ID NCT04519489
Summary
This study tested whether using a positive airway pressure (PAP) machine for sleep apnea could help prevent atrial fibrillation (AFib), an irregular heartbeat, from coming back. It involved 129 people with both AFib and sleep apnea, comparing standard heart care with or without the PAP machine over six months. The goal was to see if the breathing treatment reduced the chances of the heart rhythm problem recurring.
