Simple exercises boost sleep apnea surgery results

NCT ID NCT07231224

Summary

This study tested whether adding a 12-week program of mouth and throat exercises after surgery could improve outcomes for adults with moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea. It compared 51 patients who had surgery plus exercises to those who had surgery alone. The group that did the exercises showed significantly greater improvement in their breathing during sleep and oxygen levels, especially three months after surgery.
