First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study will test a special mouthpiece called a Dynamic Propulsion Oral Appliance (DPOA) in 40 adults with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea. Unlike standard mouthpieces that lock the jaw in one position, this device slowly and gently moves the lower jaw forward during sleep to keep the airway open. The goal is to see if it reduces breathing pauses, snoring, and daytime sleepiness with fewer side effects.
