Could a common drug unlock a new clue for sleep apnea patients?

NCT ID NCT06462287

Summary

This small, early-stage study aims to understand if a drug called aprepitant can lower levels of a hormone called aldosterone in people with severe sleep apnea and high blood pressure. Researchers want to see if blocking a brain chemical called substance P affects this hormone, which might explain why sleep apnea and high blood pressure are often linked. The study will involve 24 participants and compare the effects of aprepitant against a placebo.
