Could your sleep apnea be scarring your heart?
NCT ID NCT04814420
Summary
This study aims to understand if obstructive sleep apnea causes scarring (fibrosis) in the upper chambers of the heart. Researchers will use a special MRI scan to look for this scarring in 60 people with varying levels of sleep apnea, some with and some without a history of irregular heartbeat. The goal is to gather evidence that sleep apnea is a direct risk factor for heart changes that could lead to future problems.
