New pill cocktails target root causes of sleep apnea
NCT ID NCT06295562
Summary
This study tested three different medication combinations to see if they could reduce breathing pauses during sleep in adults with moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea. Forty-five participants spent a night in a sleep lab, where half received an active medication and half received a placebo pill. The goal was to see if targeting specific underlying physical traits of sleep apnea could improve breathing without using a CPAP machine.
