Sleep apnea treatment may tame AFib in new personalized trial

NCT ID NCT07087587

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a CPAP machine in a personalized way can lower the amount of time people with atrial fibrillation (AFib) spend in an irregular heart rhythm. Twenty adults with both moderate-to-severe sleep apnea and AFib will have their heart monitored by an implanted device. Each person will alternate periods with and without CPAP to see if the treatment reduces AFib episodes and improves quality of life.
