New drug combo aims to help seniors sleep better after hip surgery

Summary

This study is testing whether a combination of two medications, esketamine and dexmedetomidine, can improve sleep quality for elderly patients recovering from hip fracture surgery. Researchers will compare this drug combination to a placebo (saltwater solution) in 96 participants. The main goal is to see if the treatment helps patients sleep better, while also monitoring pain levels, confusion, and overall recovery.
