Scientists map immune system flaws in devastating autoimmune diseases
NCT ID NCT00582881
Summary
This study aimed to better understand how the immune system goes wrong in people with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD). Researchers observed 124 participants with these conditions over time, collecting health information and blood samples. The goal was to gather knowledge about immune responses and genetics to help scientists develop better future treatments, as there is currently no cure for these diseases.
