Holding preterm babies during transfer may be as safe as incubators
NCT ID NCT05820386
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study looks at whether holding very preterm babies skin-to-skin while moving them from the delivery room to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) keeps them just as warm as using an incubator. About 118 babies born before 34 weeks will take part. The goal is to see if this gentle approach can prevent heat loss and improve outcomes for both babies and parents.
