Lavender and cuddles: new study tests stress relief after C-Section

NCT ID NCT07612059

First seen May 31, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether holding your baby skin-to-skin right after a planned C-section, along with smelling lavender, can lower stress and help with breastfeeding. About 150 mothers will be split into three groups: standard care, skin-to-skin contact, or skin-to-skin plus lavender. Researchers will measure stress hormones, anxiety, pain, and how well breastfeeding starts.
