Can a simple touch calm the trauma of ICU survival?

NCT ID NCT07422077

Summary

This study is testing whether a gentle, non-invasive skin stimulation technique can help reduce stress, anxiety, and pain in adults recovering in the hospital after a serious illness in the intensive care unit (ICU). The technique is based on principles of energy flow from traditional Chinese medicine and involves light touch on specific skin points. Researchers will measure changes in patients' stress levels, pain, and vital signs before and after the sessions to see if this method could become a helpful part of recovery care.
