New spray aims to shield cancer patients from painful radiation burns

Summary

This study is testing if a spray containing an antioxidant enzyme can prevent or reduce painful skin burns (radiation dermatitis) in people with head and neck cancer who are receiving radiation therapy. The spray aims to neutralize harmful molecules produced during treatment. Researchers will enroll 140 patients to see if using the spray helps keep skin healthier and improves quality of life during cancer treatment.
