Cooling skin could ease pain of tumor treatments

NCT ID NCT06132165

Summary

This study tested whether cooling the skin could make several non-invasive treatments for Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1) skin tumors less painful. Thirteen adults with NF1 received treatments like lasers and injections on paired tumor sites, with one site cooled and the other not, to compare pain levels. The main goal was to see if cooling improved patient comfort and made the procedures more tolerable.
