First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at whether pulse oximeters—the clip-on devices that measure oxygen levels—work equally well in children of all skin colors. Researchers will compare the device's reading to a precise blood test in 650 children undergoing heart catheterization. The goal is to make sure these devices are accurate for every child, regardless of skin tone.
