Scientists reprogram skin cells to heal diabetic wounds

NCT ID NCT02070835

Summary

This study tested whether adding a patient's own specially treated skin cells to a standard skin graft could help heal stubborn diabetic foot ulcers faster and better. It involved 108 adults with diabetes who had non-healing foot wounds. Researchers randomly assigned patients to receive either the new cell-enhanced graft or the standard graft alone to compare healing and safety.
