Can simple dressings stop radiation burns? new trial aims to find out
NCT ID NCT07357506
First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study compares two skin-protective dressings—a moisturizing cream with foam pad versus a silicone barrier film—to see which better prevents painful skin reactions in head and neck cancer patients receiving TomoTherapy. About 104 adults will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods and monitored weekly for skin redness, peeling, or burns. The goal is to find a simple, affordable way to reduce treatment side effects and improve comfort.
