One-Day skin cancer zap: light meets sound in new trial
NCT ID NCT07381972
Summary
This study is testing a new one-day treatment for a common type of skin cancer called nodular basal cell carcinoma. Researchers want to see if adding a dose of therapeutic ultrasound to standard light therapy (photodynamic therapy) can better destroy cancer cells, especially deeper ones. The trial will enroll 142 adults to compare how well this combined approach works at clearing the cancer and preventing its return.
