Can two creams stop skin cancer before it starts?

NCT ID NCT04091022

Summary

This study tested whether applying two prescription creams (diclofenac and DFMO) could prevent new non-melanoma skin cancers in people who have had them before. 64 participants with sun-damaged skin and a history of skin cancer were randomly assigned to use the real creams or placebo creams for nine months. Researchers measured whether the treatment reduced pre-cancerous spots and new skin cancers compared to the placebo.
