Summary

This study tested a program called SHINE that teaches high school students how to protect their skin from the sun and avoid tanning. Over 2,200 students from 30 schools in Utah took part. Half the schools got the SHINE lessons, and the other half got standard education. Researchers checked if students used more sunscreen, wore protective clothing, and tanned less over the next year.
