Scientists hunt for clues in the blood of autoimmune patients

NCT ID NCT05528809

Summary

This study aimed to find new markers in the blood to help understand and diagnose Sjögren's syndrome, an autoimmune disease that causes severe dryness. Researchers compared blood samples from 40 women with either Sjögren's syndrome or a related condition called scleroderma. They looked for specific cells that might indicate how active the disease is, but this was an observational study and did not test a treatment.
