New combo pill aims to boost CF treatment in small safety study

Summary
This early study tests whether adding an experimental drug called SION-719 to the standard CF medicine Trikafta is safe and tolerable. Sixteen adults with cystic fibrosis who have two copies of the F508del mutation will receive either SION-719 or a placebo alongside their usual Trikafta. Researchers will monitor side effects, measure sweat chloride levels, and track drug concentrations in the blood.
