New surgical technique aims to tame stubborn sinus inflammation

NCT ID NCT07245329

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a procedure to remove lymphoid tissue in the back of the nose during standard sinus surgery provides better long-term control of inflammation and reduces polyp recurrence. Thirty-two adults with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard surgery alone or the standard surgery plus the additional tissue removal. Researchers will track inflammation levels, symptoms, and polyp regrowth for six months after surgery to see which approach works better.
